Insanity – Month 1 Completed – Half way through hell…

A COCKNEY SAILOR…

Overall, my experience of the Insanity DVDs has gotten a lot less sweary.

If you remember from my first Insanity post (which you can check out here: http://wp.me/p3l9qy-9d) I sounded like a Cockney sailor who has just had a brick dropped on his toe. But now, it is a lot less sweary.

Here's hoping!

Here’s hoping!

Therefore, I judge that there has been progress!

There is still ridiculous amounts of sweating taking place however. Nothing says you’re working hard like watching the sweat drip off your forehead onto the matt in front of you while doing push ups! Sexay.

I’m loving it though. Now let me qualify. When I say I’m loving it, I just want you to know I’m still suffering, still sweating, and still occasionally saying things that would make my grandmother want to wash my mouth out with soap. What I mean, is that I’m loving the challenge, pushing my limits, the exhilaration of it…perhaps I need to get myself checked out?!

THE HIPPO BALLET…

I’ve recently moved and one of the main questions I asked my new landlord and housemate: Are there people in the flat below us? Yes? Do you think they would mind if I jumped around like a lunatic, sounding not dissimilar to a hippo ballet, for an hour a day? This was asked even before sensible things like: is there double glazing, or are bills included.

My new housemate even enquired if he could join in one of the sessions. No. Just no.

SIBLING SUPPORT…

No-one should see me work out like that. In fact, the only people who have are my family – and well, they don’t have a choice. My brother enjoys shouting at me to work harder (like the sweat running off my puce face is not sign enough that I’m working hard) – usually while he is laying on the couch watching telly.

'You're not jumping high enough Bianca!'

‘You’re not jumping high enough Bianca!’

SO, THE STATS…

I’ve also lost inches from all the right places (1 inch off my waist, 2 off my behind, etc.). AND my bust measurements have remained the same – I consider that a win!

I have not been particularly strict with my diet this month (I eat healthily, but am by no means restrictive), so I think there would be more inch-loss if I cut back on the chocolate and cocktails…Bwahahahahaha!

I also feel fitter and stronger, and have taken 3 minutes off my 5k time –  woop di doo!

On to Month 2….Cover your children’s ears.
