DAY 4: I can’t because…

There are so many things that get in the way of us exercising. Here are some of the most common reasons from clients and women I know, and some suggestions to overcome them!

Lack of Time: 20-30 minutes a day to start is good enough. So get up a bit earlier, use your lunch break, do it on your way home from work, use your commute to exercise, put it in your diary (like an appointment), cut down on TV time during the week (use the record button).

Lack of Money: Find cheaper options, train outdoors, get exercise DVD’s for home, you don’t need all the fancy gadgets!

Weather: I live in the UK. Enough said. There is a saying: ‘There is no such thing as bad weather. Just bad clothing and a bad attitude’. I find that if you train outdoors, just wear the right gear and you’re all good (a cap, rain jacket, and layers if it’s cold). If you train indoors there is no excuse ; )

Lack of Knowledge: The internet is your friend, use it. There are so many useful websites on different exercises and training tips (see Tip of the Day for more info). Read exercise blogs and fitness magazines. If you can afford it, a personal trainer can be worth their weight in gold.

Lack of Motivation: This I think is the hardest one…and that’s what this blog is all about : )
